Rentokil Tanzania signs new contract for Container Fumigation

10 April, 2013

In 2012, Rentokil Tanzania was appointed to fumigate tobacco exports from Tanzania. Each year the company fumigates hundreds of containers with export cargo from Tanzania.

Rentokil also undertakes fumigation work for other companies to prevent the spread of weevils, insects and pests and minimize the risk of damage to goods in transit.

In 2013, Rentokil has signed new large contracts, some extending to services around the country to fumigate grains in storages such as warehouses and silos. Rentokil also undertakes pre-shipment treatment of wooden packaging materials (e.g. crates, pallets, weir timbers) according to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM- 15).

Rentokil Tanzania also performs fumigation services – including the treatment of cargoes loaded into sea-going vessels, barges and containers – in ports and logistic centers. These services comply with stringent national and international legislation, with best practice and with globally agreed quality and safety standards.
